Does every move in Life matter too ?

Been thinking about it on and off for quite some time. But really does every move matter in life ?

Not to pay a lot of importance but, how many wrong moves is one allowed ? NBA : can commit 5 fouls before being thrown out. NFL : Aah well, Lets just say.. I have never seen anyone thrown out of a game. How about life and chess ? Do we get enough chances to correct our mistakes ? Or does every move need to be the best in that situation ?
